NCBTMB CELEBRATES 15th ANNIVERSARY AS NATION'S MASSAGE THERAPY CERTIFICATION BOARD
OAKBROOK TERRACE, Illinois (May 21, 2008) The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) will be celebrating its15th anniversary and its ongoing mission to define and advance the highest standards in the massage therapy and bodywork profession. Event: NCBTMB 15th Anniversary ³A Celebration of Excellence² Where: The Fairmont, Washington D.C. 2401 M Street, NW Washington D.C. 20037 Phone: 202.429.2400 When: Friday evening, May 30, 2008, from 6 pm to 9 pm, during the course of NCBTMB¹s board meeting and leadership retreat, May 29-June 1, 2008. Why: The $5 billion massage therapy and bodywork industry continues to experience historic growth, with 39 million Americans now receiving at least one massage a year. ³NCBTMB is taking this time to celebrate 15 years of advancing the profession and helping build public trust in a field that is rapidly becoming an accepted component of our nation¹s wellness,² stated Donna Feeley, NCBTMB Chair. The event, which immediately follows the NCBTMB Board of Directors second quarter meeting, will recognize the original founders, past board chairs,volunteers and key contributors who have demonstrated their continued commitment to the organization and the industry it serves. The celebration will honor the history of massage therapy practices from around the world,depicting the unique cultural contributions to the practice of massage therapy.
In addition, NCBTMB will announce its new employer-based Center of Excellence program.
