BARNEGAT TOWNSHIP, NJ — Seasonal visitors and year-round residents of the Barnegat Bayshore looking for a new way to relax, pamper and treat themselves to a new experience have a must-visit destination in Barnegat Township. In 2005, Dave Royle opened the doors to Fusion Wellness Center nestled in the Township’s historic business district, offering patrons a variety of massage therapies, yoga classes, and nutritional classes.
Royle, a Certified Massage Therapist since 1993, notes that his cozy chic wellness center is a departure from the clinics and salons most massage therapy enthusiasts have come to know. “Our approach to wellness is to pamper both the body and mind. That’s why we also offer additional amenities you won’t find anywhere else.”
Fusion’s amenities include a Zagat-rated lunch in its fireside lounge and car detailing on premises. Guests can also enjoy complimentary herbal tea, or relax while watching a DVD on the flat screen television in Fusion’s reception area.
“Our guests enjoy our center so much, they often stay for a few hours,” he added. “We really needed to be creative and provide those clients with
additional ways to enjoy the atmosphere.”
Fusion, at 790 West Bay Avenue, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, but that’s only the beginning. Customers seeking specialized attention
are urged to inquire about corporate chair-side massage and spa parties, including bridal groups looking to put a spa-spin on the bachelorette tradition.
“We’ve created a warm, plush atmosphere where people can escape from the daily grind and truly find relaxation. For a person who has not
yet tried massage therapy or yoga, it’s a comfortable, friendly place to be introduced to the experience.
“When we created the Center last year, we designed the interior to reflect our favorite destinations, including New York City lounges as well as spas we’ve visited around the country,” said Royle. “Just as we were about to open, we realized the center was a fusion of the places we most enjoyed, and our hope was to attract clientele who enjoyed and appreciated the same. Hence the name.”
Royle also added that due to Fusion’s location and accesibility to the Garden State Parkway, it’s a great way to start or end a visit to Long Beach Island. He also sends therapists to LBI to bring the Fusion experience to its clients.
In addition to massage and organic facials, guests who appreciate the aromas that permeate through the center can also purchase a soy candle allowing
them to bring the scents of Fusion home with them. Specialty soaps are also available.
All professionals who provide services at Fusion are Certified Massage
Therapists and members of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals
(ABMP).
