Environ Ionzyme® Focus Frown Serum Wins “Product of the Year”
The 2010 South African Pharmaceutical & Cosmetic Review “New Product Competition” award for “Product of the Year” was presented to Environ® Skin Care at a reception in Johannesburg, South Africa, on August 11, 2010 for its Ionzyme® Frown Focus Serum. The competition was open to South African products launched during 2009 and was sponsored by IFF (International Flavors & Fragrances Inc.).
“We’re delighted to have won the competition and it couldn’t have come at a better time,” says Hazel Kelly, marketing manager of Environ,® (pictured, with Greg Hughes, CEO of Infixion Media, and Nick Evans, Manager of Fragrances at IFF), who attended the event on behalf of the company. Environ® entered two products into the competition: the Ionzyme® Frown Focus Serum and the Ionzyme® Focus Hydrating Serum.
Entries were judged on four criteria:
- Innovation of the product itself
- Packaging design appropriate to the product
- Marketing support
- Compliance with Cosmetic Toiletry and Fragrance Association (CTFA) regulations
The different criteria were judged independently on a point system with no collaboration between the judges (avoiding any discussion or bias). Furthermore, the judges did not know which product had won until the announcement was made at the event.
