Phoenix, AZ – The West Coast’s biggest and best beauty event, the
International Salon & Spa Expo (ISSE) Long Beach,
will once again take over Long Beach, California, January 28 – 30, 2012 to
kick off the professional beauty show season. Produced by
the Professional Beauty Association (PBA), ISSE Long Beach has evolved beyond
the traditional “hair show” and is a complete beauty event relating to hair,
nails, cosmetics, esthetics, wellness, massage, and advanced education.
Every year ISSE Long Beach welcomes more than 40,000 beauty professionals from
around the globe and is well known as the launching place for new beauty
products and services and for its highly professional set-up and management.
With a sold-out expo floor, more than 400 exhibiting international beauty
brands, more than 250 educational classes, live stage performances from some of
the industry’s top stars, and all new hair and nail competitions, ISSE Long
Beach 2012 is the place for beauty professionals to stay current on the latest

Highlights
for 2012
The EstheticsAmerica & Wellness Pavilion featuring CIDESCO USA education
continues to expand. With a successful launch in 2010, the
EstheticsAmerica & Wellness Pavilion allows both ISSE shows (Long Beach and
Midwest) the ability to be total beauty events. Sponsored by Repêchage, the
EstheticsAmerica & Wellness Pavilion will once again claim the Arena at ISSE
Long Beach, providing exhibitors and attendees with a dedicated environment
devoted to skincare, wellness, and the latest in treatments and education for
this rapidly expanding segment of the beauty industry. Many of the largest
esthetics brands, along with CIDESCO USA, will be on hand to offer advanced,
hands-on training and certifications.
New for 2012
New Hair
Competitions Added: Students and licensed professionals are invited to
show off their skills and win career prestige in the all new ISSE Long Beach
Hairstyling Competitions. All competitors use mannequins for entries. Categories
include: Women’s Trend Cut, Color & Style; Long Hair Bridal;
Fantasy-Inspired by Nature; Technical Creative; Technical Hair by Night;
and, Fashion on Long Hair for Day and Evening. ISSE Long Beach will
continue to feature nail competitions, held in partnership with NailPro

NAHA Theater Added: The North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA)
continues to be the industry’s premier photographic hairstyling competition and
awards ceremony. The ISSE Long Beach NAHA Theater will feature NAHA winners and
finalists, which are some of the industry’s biggest stars, showcasing their
talents, reviewing what a NAHA win can do for one’s career, and how to create a
successful entry. Presenters include Damien Carney, Tony Ricci, John Simpson,
Jake Thompson, Charlie Price, The Teals featuring Steve Elias, and many
more.
Revamped Stage Concepts: Focused on continually evolving to meet
the needs of the industry, ISSE Long Beach will now present Center Stage
(formerly, International Fashion Theater) and Stage Right (formerly,
Technical Theater). While the concepts will largely remain the same, overall
presentations, design, and layout will be modified slightly to create a more
inviting and engaging experience.
ISSE Long Beach will continue to feature group registration, making registering
large parties quick and efficient. The ISSE Long Beach Night Out Party,
sponsored by Ultimate Beauty Companies, will be held
Sunday, January 29, 2012, and is open, free of charge, to all attendees and
exhibitors.
ISSE Long Beach is open to licensed salon/spa professionals, cosmetology
students and instructors only. To maintain a

Responding to the requests of multiple beauty manufacturers, distributors, salon owners and hairstylists for a show option in the Chicago market during the fall/holiday season, ISSE Midwest will move from Spring to Fall for 2012. ISSE Midwest will deliver the same level of professionalism, quality education, leading exhibitors, industry celebrations and large industry attendance that have become the industry standard at PBA’s family of events. ISSE Midwest will be held at the industry favorite Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois – just a short distance from downtown Chicago and O’Hare International Airport.
