In 2013 Cosmoprof will celebrate its 46th BIRTHDAY, cementing its role as a leading worldwide “beauty event” and the undisputed meeting place for international operators in the sector. The event’s strength lies in its ability to bring together the entire beauty universe on one unmissable occasion, hosting members of the industry from all over the world.
The figures from the last edition speak of ever-increasing success, the sign of a proactive commitment by the participating companies and the full support of the organisers. Thanks to the 175,703 attendees recorded during the four days of the 2012 event, Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna has cemented its role as the landmark exhibition for exhibitors from Italy and overseas, whose numbers have grown by 5%, and for the 40,000-plus international visitors.
The exhibitors, from over 70 countries, have exceeded the 2,300 threshold and five new Country Pavilions (Mexico, California, Brazil, the Netherlands and Romania) have raised the number of collectives from producer countries at the Fair to 20. This is an excellent example of international success involving the global cosmetics sector and beginning in the heart of Italy.
One of the biggest Italian events and one of the most international events, the exhibition, organised by SoCeGos, a BolognaFiere Group company, fits perfectly into the international calendar thanks to the new dates for the 2013 exhibition: March 8th-11th.
All the sectors of the industry are represented in the six areas of the exhibition: perfumery and cosmetics, spa and beauty, natural products, hair, nails and packaging. This last sector has its own “show within the show”, COSMOPACK, an entire exhibition area completely dedicated to packaging and machinery, contract and private label production. Cosmopack 2013 will open its doors on March 7th, one day before Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, and will close on March 10th. This decision was made with the aim of allowing packaging companies to enjoy increased visibility and to benefit from the presence of professionals from the sector attending the event.
The 2013 edition has established itself as a complete and innovative business platform for the sector, aimed at all the distribution channels. It is an occasion for companies to increase the profile of their brand, support the launch of new products and unveil the latest innovations and trends, thanks in part to the significant investment allocated by the fair’s organisers to ensure the attendance of qualified buyers and distributors from the perfumery and cosmetics sector at the event. Exhibitors are guaranteed B2B meetings as a result of the organisers inviting an international delegation of buyers / distributors to attend the event from geographical areas identified as new market opportunities: BRICS, the USA, the Middle East, Europe. They will be reached by advertising in overseas publications for the perfumery and cosmetics sector to promote the event to a qualified target market of visitors.
Another important innovation concerns the exhibition layout, which was devised to reflect the new market trends and create an improved visiting experience by exploiting the fair’s two main entrances, Costituzione and Michelino. The packaging, beauty and spa, nail and hair sectors will benefit from a new layout which will guarantee companies from the relevant areas a dedicated visit, as well as offering visitors a more fluid, organic and focused experience.
In recent years there have been more sector-specific events organised during the exhibition, which have become increasingly well attended. This year Cosmoprof will once again be dedicating space and attention to high-profile events such as On Hair: the fashion catwalk where the most prestigious international artistic teams will unveil the latest trends in hair fashion – Esthetiring: the area dedicated to massage techniques from all over the world – Hair Ring: a selection of the best talents chosen by the Camera Italiana dell’Acconciatura (Italian Chamber of Hairdressing) exhibiting in their own dedicated space, where cutting-edge fashion trends and looks will be centre stage – Extraordinary Gallery: the return of the sophisticated multisensory exhibition space dedicated to niche products: exclusive beauty products, cutting-edge raw materials, fashion and design, unique items of jewellery, luxury foods… a concept of all-round beauty – Country Pavilions: significant participation once again at the 2013 edition from national collectives, with two prominent new entries: India and Colombia.
The major innovations for the 2013 edition include: THE NEW TALENT: this contest devised to develop young talent by supporting creativity from Italy and overseas will have a new appearance: the “TOTAL LOOK” of ideas for hair, make-up, nail style and clothing. This will be a showcase for global trends, offering visitors a 360° perspective on fashion.
SPOT-ON-BEAUTY: an initiative dedicated to companies which have not attended the exhibition before, giving them the opportunity to present their products to qualified international buyers. The area where the products are exhibited will be dedicated, intimate and elegant and will be located within the relevant sector / pavilion: Hair, Beauty, Perfumery.
A BEAUTY AVENUE will be created: a walkway running from the Piazza Costituzione entrance to the Beauty pavilions. This beautiful pathway will bring visitors to the pavilions in an atmosphere pervaded with great emotional intensity.
THE PREMIUM PERFUMERY: a new area for high-end established brands and new products from around the world.
There will be plenty of eagerly awaited evening events designed to build a bridge between the fair and the city: the Perfume Academy, for example, will be housed in a prestigious city-centre location. Another stylish initiative will also be unveiled soon, which will captivate Bologna and its citizens with its fashionable and glamorous allure.
