Tarzana, CA Alan Benfield Bush has recently released several new creative
designs from his Androgynous Collection. The Method Alliance continues to gain
respectability from top salon owners and artistic hair design engineers.
Androgynous Collection: Bush notes, “The beauty of this haircut and haircolor
design collection is the versatile architectural hairstyle design options
created for trendsetting fashion forward salon clients. The Androgynous
Collection haircuts can be styled for a more conservative look, an extra
glamorous textured look as well as to create sophisticated upstyles. This
collection is a new way of creating dynamic looks for any woman or a man. The
first inspiration for this new collection came directly from Ellen DeGeneres.
She wears today’s hair, wardrobe and makeup fashions to create a dynamic
personal image! Many other Hollywood celebrities like Ellen’s wife Portia, Grace
Jones and Jennifer Lawrence have also started to share exciting new androgynous
hair designs.“
Pretty Boy: The Pretty Boy Haircut was created with a
condensed haircutting technique from The Method. There is extreme versatility
created by use of an expanded haircut to create a heart shape in this hair
design. The hair is spiked with a lifting and holding spray. This haircut can be
worn forward, swept back, flat or to one side for a textured, spikey look.
Handsome: Handsome was created with a combination of condensed cutting
technique and scissor over comb. Three foils were used asymmetrically to enhance
the haircut with a glamorous Volvex Cutoloring Technique. With Cutoloring, less
is more. Handsome offers you and your clients extreme versatility. The hair
design can be parted on either side for fashionable duality by women and men.
The haircut is short on the sides and layered in an expanded volumetrics
convexity using a hard design line. This helps expand the volume. This haircut
can be styled up, back and forward in at least 3 to 4 hair designs. Shine and
gloss products were used to bring out the haircolor highlights with a short
fringe. As you shift the hair around to express your own creativity, you will
quickly see the different creative hairstyle design options develop with use of
professional haircare products.
Squire: The Squire Haircut design is
meant to reflect a very soft and sexy image to further enhance the common
duality for women and men. This is a layered haircut using Volvex on the top
left back and rounded in the front. The fringe or short bangs are used here, yet
not as short as the Handsome Haircut. The fringe is cut with a hard geometric
line. This very versatile haircut is more explicit to express softness with a
fringe. The haircut is pulled to the top back left curvature, called the plane.
The Cutoloring haircolor Technique used for the Squire is all lifted to give it
a wasted blonde look and to further emphasize the softness. With professional
products and styling tools, you can easily create added texture and different
hairstyle designs.
Shim: This special Androgynous Collection design was
created when it was discovered that this model is also a professional makeup
artist. She has an exciting attitude and lifestyle that reflects the need for
this edgy fashion forward design. Bush used his trademark Condensed Cutting, as
well as scissor over comb techniques. The beauty of this androgynous haircut and
haircolor design is the versatile hairstyle design options. The Shim Haircut can
be worn as a clean one length look or flat to her head for a more conservative
look. You can add extra glamour to it with curl texture and movement for a more
sophisticated upstyle. This haircut has been styled into two forms. One has been
designed with loose geometric aerodynamic structure that gives it architectural
shape. The other being more rounded to show the concave and convexity lines that
flatter volumetrics. The design was colored with one foil. The haircolor is
placed to add to the definition using our proprietary Cutoloring technique in
the Method.
Cutoloring: Cutoloring is an innovative creative technique
developed by Alan Benfield Bush to work with all haircuts and haircolor within
the same technique. This technique informs you on how to do more coverage in
less time. Cutoloring, enhances condensed techniques. The haircut is the design.
Haircolor is added to enhance and flatter. Where you stand to do the haircut you
stand to do the color.
The Method: Alan Benfield Bush is most famous for
creating a revolutionary different and trademarked system of haircutting called
“The Method.” He has successfully taught The Method to hairdressers around the
world. This system has become a universally accepted language tool. Bush notes,
“Every hair designer uses The Method, only most don’t realize it. Method
Alliance educational workshops and manuals utilize the English language to
properly describe the science of designing hair.” Alan Benfield Bush has
authored the much respected Method Condensed Cutting, perming, haircolour and
hairstyling techniques. The Method has three forms of haircutting called
geometrics, volumetrics and trimetric projections. The Method helps bring all
salon professionals together on a level of understanding the elements that we
all use in creating professional hair design. Hair designers quickly become the
master in control of their own creativity, spontaneity and their career by using
The Method and all of its techniques. Bush promises, “Mastering The Method will
give you the ultimate freedom with hair design creativity that you have never
experienced before!”
