It used to be that small businesses all fought for holiday shopping dollars on the traditional Black Friday. It’s been touted as the busiest shopping day of the year. However, technology has fostered a great shift in traditional holiday consumer shopping behaviors.
Black Friday
Traditionally, this was a day that shoppers rushed to the mall to begin their holiday shopping. Consumer behavior has shifted slightly and Black Friday tends to be focused on big box stores that have massive advertising budgets and mass market buying power. However, every small business should still create some type of promotional opportunity for their customers on Black Friday to leverage the special shopping days of the symbolic beginning of the holiday shopping season.
Small Business Saturday
This day emerged in reaction to the large, big box store corporate take over of Black Friday – the new shopping day is Small Business Saturday. Small Business Saturday has become a national day where consumers are encouraged to head to their local small business and shop with them in order to help support their local economy. Creating an in-spa promotion where your clients can purchase skin and body care products, make up, nail care products, and gift items is a great strategy to leverage this new shopping day.
Cyber Monday
This shopping day organically appeared a few years ago during the economic analysis of Black Friday sales. Economic experts noticed a dip in Black Friday sales that was offset by a massive spike in online shopping that took place on the Monday after Thanksgiving. Running a special promotion that is available to your online shoppers on your spa products or gift cards is the only way to leverage this shopping day.
If you decide that you want to have a promotion for one or all three of these special shopping days, you will need inventory to sell. There is no better way get all of your needs met than to enjoy the SpaTrends Discount Partner Program.
Be sure to ask for it anytime you’re shopping for your wholesale spa products, equipment or services either at the IECSC show in Florida or online anytime at www.SpaTrends.com.
Happy Holiday Shopping!
