Aerolase of Tarrytown, NY (USA), has introduced the first aesthetic laser that is portable, weighing just 22 pounds. The LightPod Neo (YAG 1064) and LightPod Era (erbium) lasers perform the full array of aesthetic skin treatments.
“The portability of LightPod enables the practitioner to offer aesthetic services in multiple locations,” said Joe Hurley, Chief Operating Officer at Aerolase. “Combine that with the fact that LightPod lasers are half the price of large, stationary lasers to begin with, and you have the potential for a much higher return on investment.”
With the patented LightPod design, the laser emitter is mounted in the handpiece and cooled by air. This unique design provides a gentle collimated beam – allowing efficacious treatment with minimum pain, even on tanned or dark skin types. It also eliminates the maintenance problems associated with conventional water-cooled lasers, eliminating the need for costly service contracts.
