A preview of the latest beauty trends
Cosmoprof Asia is the ideal platform to observe product trends, new technologies
and ideas from across the world.
The new trend for the Perfumery & Cosmetics area is the application of
nanotechnologies in the production of skincare and makeup formulas with
functional ingredients such as vitamins, active principles and filters subject
to degradation when exposed to the air. Such elements greatly improve
functionality as it permits realising products, as in the case of sun protection
formulas, which can protect skin homogenously while defending it against the
harmful effects of UV rays.
Areas of growth opportunity forecast for the industry include also holistic and
multi-functional products in the skincare sector. BB creams, which can hydrate,
protect and brighten skin at the same time, is a particularly good example.
PEG free production, which is an emulsifier used in a variety of skincare
formulas and fragrances, is another important trend.
At Cosmoprof Asia 2012, there will be an increase in the men’s toiletries area
with men’s skincare products using active principles that are very similar to
women’s except for their fragrances.
Natural is the main trend in the hair sector, which consists of using raw
materials in products to obtain biodegradability equal to 99%.
Argan oil or “liquid gold” is the new must-have essential to be used on its own
as an oil or combined with silicone to protect and give shine to hair.
In the Nail area, nail art, fashion and technology and devices will all exhibit
advances and innovation.
In the cosmetic Packaging sector the demand for eco-friendly and sustainable
packaging is high and reflects the industry trend. A particular innovation in
"green" packaging is the use of "QR tags" (quick response). These codes appear
on the packaging of cosmetics, and gives access to detailed information on
composition, producer, and environmental criteria of production.
