A STRONG ONLINE PRESENCE IS KEY TO MARKETING SUCCESS
In today’s technology-filled world, it has become a necessity that businesses integrate a digital media presence into their overall marketing strategy. Creating and maintaining an online dialogue through company websites, social media and other marketing channels allow brands to strengthen their global presence. Each channel used for online marketing has a different strategic purpose, different ROI considerations, and should be measured differently in terms of contribution to the brand. As part of this year’s Cosmoprof North America (CPNA) show, the Cut to the Chase: Create a Successful Online Strategy session will teach attendees how to reframe conversations, budgets and efforts around online strategy based on brand objectives.
The Cut to the Chase: Create a Successful Online Strategy session will be held on Monday, July 15th from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will be moderated by Dr. Brooke Carlson, professor in the Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing and Management Master’s program at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). Carlson will be joined by Stuart Bogaty, CMO of YouBeauty.com/BeautySage.com; Herschel Thompson, Vice President of Marketing of YouBeauty.com/BeautySage.com; and Andrew Videira, senior brand manager of Beiersdorf – Aquaphor Skincare. This session is prepared in collaboration with YouBeauty.com, one of the largest online destinations, and FIT’s marketing graduate program.

Stuart Bogaty | YouBeauty.com/BeautySage.com | CMO – A 24-year media veteran with 19+ years in the interactive advertising community, Stuart Bogaty is a well-respected, results-oriented media/marketing executive with proven success as CEO, CMO, EVP Global Managing Partner, and Managing Director for Ogilvy & Mather, Mindshare, Universal McCann, Grey, Saatchi & Saatchi in addition to GSI Commerce and YouBeauty.com / BeautySage.com. He is instrumental in pushing forward and championing many industry wide initiatives in the digital arena.
Herschel Thompson | YouBeauty.com/BeautySage.com | Vice President of Marketing – Herschel Thompson has over 17 years of digital marketing experience, working on both the agency- and client-side to manage and grow interactive programs for a broad range of retailers, global brands and start-ups. As Vice President of Marketing at YouBeauty, he is responsible for all acquisition and retention campaigns, including search engine marketing, display advertising, social, email and affiliate relationships, in addition to site optimization initiatives. Herschel’s prior experience as a Director at Top 100 Internet Retailers involved managing the e-commerce marketing channels in-house. Previously, he worked at two of the world’s Top 10 interactive agencies on strategy engagements to brands like Intel, Volvo, MasterCard, M&M/Mars and IBM.
Andrew Videira | Beiersdorf – Aquaphor Skincare | Senior Brand Manager – As a graduate from FIT’s Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing and Management program, Andrew Videira served as a team leader and worked for over a year on a research project presented as part of a capstone presentation in front of industry all-stars in June 2013. He is currently the Senior Brand Manager for Aquaphor Skincare, where he is responsible for the Aquaphor USA portfolio of body, lip and baby products. He is responsible for all marketing, strategy and planning as well as product innovation for Aquaphor. Videira has played a critical role in the development and execution of the brand’s digital media initiatives and expansion strategy. Prior to joining Beiersdorf North America, Videira spent several years abroad in Europe and South America conducting international research in the field of Leadership and Emotional Intelligence.

Dr. Brooke Carlson | Fashion Institute of Technology | School of Graduate Studies | Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing & Management Master’s program | Professor – Dr. Brooke Carlson has over 22 years of executive marketing and general management experience in the beauty industry. Carlson is currently a full-time faculty member at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. Prior to joining academia, she was Vice President of Conair Professional Division where she oversaw salon brands, marketing communications, licensing agreements, Style Source magazine, and business development. As Sr. Vice President of Matrix (division of L’Oreal USA), she oversaw strategic marketing and communications for the U.S market. Previous experience also included Director of Marketing at Zotos, a division of Shiseido; and Assistant Vice President at Parfums de Coeur, a privately held mass-market fragrance company.
