“Comfort Care Classics” on the Florida beachfront…
SiSpa, the award-winning spa at two Florida beachfront resorts – Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa and Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa – has trained its entire staff in cancer care protocol and has introduced a specialized spa menu called Comfort Care Classics designed exclusively for guests who have cancer as well as survivors. The menu includes massage, facial, body and nail services that promote relaxation and stress relief. An accompanying caregiver enjoys a 20-percent discount on regularly priced services. Staff training was provided by The Florida Cancer Aware program and included an eight-hour course followed by a five-hour hands-on practicum.
…and a BCAM Facebook promotion to win a spa treatment
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, both the Pompano Beach and Singer Island SiSpas will run a Facebook contest the first and third weeks of the month. Followers can nominate a deserving cancer fighter/survivor to receive a complimentary Comfort Care Classics service, and the nominator of the contest winner will get a prize as well – a 50-minute service of their choice from the regular spa menu. Oncology massage by Sensei therapists in the Sonoran Desert
Surrounded by inspirational views of the Sonoran Desert, Sanctuary Spa at Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain (Scottsdale, Arizona) is one of the nation’s top destination spas. Among its points of distinction is an exclusive cohort of Sensei therapists trained to perform oncology messages and other highly specialized treatments. “Sensei,” a term that holds tremendous honor and respect in the Japanese culture, is typically reserved for great mentors and teachers. Sensei therapists at Sanctuary are a select group of practitioners who take a multi-dimensional approach to body work. Their holistic methods address mind and spirit in addition to the body, with on-the-spot decision-making to meet each guest’s emotional and spiritual needs. Each Sanctuary Sensei has passed rigorous training and certification exams, with no less than seven years’ experience in massage therapy and bodywork and at least five years of experience at the Sanctuary Spa, specifically.
