Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico,
5th October 2014. – Spa Professional Mexico the industry publication
specializing in spa and wellness announced the results of its survey of the Best
25 Spas of Mexico 2014, with the aim of increasing knowledge of the industry
among tourism professionals, health and wellness experts, as well as spreading
the benefits of spas among the general population.
“It’s exciting for us
to present the list of the Best 25 Spas in Mexico,” said Sara Jones, editor of
Spa Professional Mexico. “The worldwide industry of spa and wellness has been
growing in recent years, and globally now generates 94 billion dollars, an
increase of 58% from 60 billion in 2007”.
The judges of Spa Professional
Mexico developed a list of the best 25 spas, supported by their extensive
knowledge of the spa and wellness industry in Mexico and the rest of the world.
To achieve recognition, spas were judged on their spa treatment menu, service
quality and personal attention, wellness offering, condition and design of
facilities, among other things.
“The list highlights the 25 best spas in
alphabetical order, as we believe that given the variety of services,
environments and specific benefits they offer, it would be impossible to decide
which is best.” says Jones.
The Best 25 Spas of Mexico are:
Pedegral, Cabo San Lucas
Spa, Coral Beach, Fiesta Americana Grand, Cancun
Fe Mexico City
Excellence Riviera Maya
Spa at Esperanza, An Auberge Resort, Cabo San Lucas

Traditionally, customers seek spas for relaxation
and wellness; this has fostered a global tourism segment dedicated to this
industry, with Mexico as one of the main destinations. This, in turn, has fueled
the growth of strong domestic and regional markets.
“The wellness
industry should not be considered a niche industry. The consultancy firm SRI
International estimates that the industry already has more than 290 million
consumers around the world. Professionalism and uniqueness of each spa and
service will determine success in the short and long term, “says Sara Jones.
