The North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA), Beacon, the PBA Business Forum featuring the Beauty Pitch, City of Hope Spirit of Life Award honoring Steve Goddard, Founder of PRAVANA, and the Salon Professional Experience, an event and education package specifically for salon professionals, round out the stellar event lineup. Hosted by Cosmoprof North America, PBA Beauty Week will take place July 11-14, 2015 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Held annually as part of PBA Beauty Week, PBA’s Beacon program accepts 100 student winners and invites 200 additional student honorable mentions to be part of this career-changing event. Beacon teaches students the business behind the beauty industry and provides valuable insight on marketing, business operations, networking and leadership training. Students will have the opportunity to learn from industry experts from all segments of the professional beauty industry, as well as top educators, platform artists and NAHA winners. Beacon students also have the opportunity to attend PBA’s Business Forum featuring the Beauty Pitch.

PBA Business Forum & First Annual Beauty Pitch

PBA’s 2015 Business Forum will feature the exciting return of entrepreneur, and Shark Tank star, Mark Cuban along with industry heavyweight John Paul DeJoria in PBA’s first ever Beauty Pitch. Produced in conjunction with Cosmoprof North America, this one-of-a-kind event will showcase five beauty industry entrepreneurs seeking growth, and potential funding for their business. Each company will “pitch” their brand to our experts in the hopes of winning a one-year mentorship with Mark Cuban and the potential for investment funding. Cuban and DeJoria will be joined on the judges’ panel by Melissa Goldstein from Martha Stewart Living and Neil Parmar with INC.com. Watch and join in as the expert panel analyzes the finalist companies as they pitch their concept, product or business model.
Prior to Beauty Pitch, learn about key PBA programs and initiatives for 2015 and beyond featuring PBA Executive Director, Steve Sleeper, and Board Chairman, Scott Buchanan. A complimentary buffet-style breakfast will be served.
PBA’s Salon Professional Experience

The Salon Professional Experience is a weekend focused on business and growth, beginning on Saturday night with the PBA Get Together Party and culminating Tuesday, July 14 with Cosmoprof North America. Attendees will also enjoy business education at PBA’s Business Forum featuring the Beauty Pitch and the Salon Professional Experience Education programming, designed to motivate and inspire long after attendees leave Las Vegas. The Salon Professional Education will be emceed by Rowena Yeager, PBA Board Member and Salon/Spa Advisory Council Chair, and includes classes from industry legends includingVivienne Mackinder, Steve Gomez, Tamra Segert and Jay Williams. On top of receiving entrance to the PBA Get Together Party, PBA Business Forum featuring the Beauty Pitch and Salon Professional Education, each Salon Professional Experience package will include a 3-day expo ticket to Cosmoprof North America and entrance to the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA). The most prestigious photographic beauty competition in North America, the North American Hairstyling Awards celebrates the artistry and skill of the professional salon industry. As the top achievement for professional hairstylists and makeup artists, this event brings together past and present NAHA entrants and beauty professionals from all over the world to continue to push the boundaries of trend-setting style. This year’s celebration, hosted by fashion stylist and lifestyle expert, Brad Goreski, includes a special opportunity drawing for a chance to win a 2015 Fiat 500A, courtesy of J Beverly Hills, and high-energy, artistic presentations by Matrix, Redken, Aveda and 2014 Hairstylist of the Year winner, Alain Pereque. 2015 NAHA Host
Fashion stylist, lifestyle expert and new host on E!’s “Fashion Police,” Brad Goreski, has been chosen as the 2015 NAHA host. He is the former star of Bravo’s “It’s a Brad, Brad World” and currently serves as the Brand Stylist for Kate Spade New York. Goreski’s client list includes Jessica Alba, Demi Moore, Christina Ricci and Rashida Jones. Goreski’s work has been featured in a number of publications, including InStyle, Details, Redbook and LA Confidential, among other outlets, and he has been featured twice on the cover of the New York Times style section.
Additionally, as an on-air personality, he has appeared as a fashion expert on the TODAY show, Good Morning America and The View among others, and has hosted the American Music Awards Red Carpet, and served as a judge for the Miss Universe pageant.

Join fellow distributors from across the country for PBA’s Distributor Workshop. This year’s focus will be on the digital experience. NAW contributor Mark Dancer will discuss the idea behind his new book, Becoming a Digital Distributor: Strategies and Tools that Create Value. Until now there has been very little guidance for distributors about where to start and how to strategically use digital tools – e-commerce, social media, mobility, CRM, advanced analytics and multi-channel solutions – to gain a competitive advantage.
